Lazy sunday rant

For the last nine months, my weekends have been a day long. Anyone with a 6 day work-week can well understand the plight of having one measly day off... By the time you set into your off-mode, half the day is gone! And with it, half your weekend!

We 6-day-weekers don't have the luxury to allow the weekend to 'set in'...so even though I'm dead tired by the end of a working Saturday, I'll make it a point to be in a 'different' mood. Perhaps it is the anticipation of sleeping in the day after. Or just the paranoia of not letting a precious Saturday night slip away! And then dawns Sunday...which is always shorter than allllllll the other days. A list of chores, pending visits, catchup calls...and at the same time a nagging thought at the back of my mind 'only x hours to before I'm back to my work week'

Well, that's how most of my Sundays are. But every once in a while, I'm blessed with a no-agenda-lazy-Sunday, and this is my absolute favourite! Today has been one such day. After a late breakfast, I spent most of my morning and a better part of the afternoon watching one of my favourite melodramas on TV. Followed by a great ordered-in lunch, watching the rain, browsing through pictures and updates of random Facebook friends, a nap and a slowwwww relaxed shower. Needless to say, that leaves me in quite a good place :D

So even though Monday looms ahead, and I have a zillion thoughts about the coming week zipping through my mind, I have a smile on my lips...Happy Sunday to you too!

Could it be true that what you do on the first day of the new year is indicative of how you will spend the remaining year?! In my case, it seems to be! I slept most of 1st Jan. Actually...it would be fair to say that I slept through most of Jan!! Not the gosh-its-cold-and-I'm-sick-sleep...but the awww-don't-I-just-looooooooove-sleeping-sleep!! Not good I tell you...not good at all! Specially when you have at least five deadlines zooming towards you at the speed of light!

Things got a little better after a full blown panic attack a few days ago. I feel more 'sorted'. (Actually, what does that mean? I've been saying that a lot! Maybe it's something I picked up in the counselling classes! haha). Motivation to complete the work still alludes me. But I'm getting there. Which is to say that instead of sleeping, I now watch movies and castle. So I'm definitely out of bed! And thanks to watching Social Network, I'm even more in love with Fb :D

Oh n did I tell you about my addiction to Gossip Girl?! One would have thought I had outgrown SweetValley-type stuff. Apparently not. I have just graduated to sleeker things! haha. Maybe you've already seen GG...maybe you loathe it (I did too, initially....but was hooked nevertheless!)...maybe you love it...despite the fact that everyone has slept with everyone (no exaggeration here), the people are good at heart! ;) Honestly! You have to see it to believe it!

Doordarshan turned 50 today! How cool is that! But I've always thought of DD as being oooooold.....so 50 is kinda young na? Byomkesh Bakshi n Buniyad were my favs from the 'olden days'

if ever i loved a t.v. series, its this one!!! i know people who've been fanatics for more than 10 yrs now...and i don't claim the same glory ;) but in the last year and a half, these 6 characters have become real ppl for me...i love ross for being a nerd...rachel for being a spoilt brat...i can see a bit of myself in chandler, phoebe and monica...and joey? he's beyond words!! :) as a second thought, ever since i got hooked onto Friends, i hav bin seeing a bit of each of them in everyone i know...my friends, my family...It's an American sitcom and their setup and mine have zilch in common...but it still seems so real man!!!!

I was dreading that the series would come to an end soon...and even though i've been told time n again that 'u can watch friends a zillion times and still wanna see more'...for me, i knew it just wouldn't be the same...but kehte hain na, "melya shivay swarg disat nahi"...so i had to see the end myself to believe....and man! i loooooooooove the way it ended! ross and rachel together...wow! it's like.....its perfect! :) even with mon n chandler moving away...it all just feel into place so neatly....n now, i Know that i can watch it a million times over n still not get enough! things i love about the series:

-the title track...it reminds me how much i love my friends

-joey, ross, rachel, chandler, monica n phoebe
